You may assign macros to key combinations such as
Alt-A, Ctrl-B, Shift-C, etc. However, alphabetic or·
numeric key combinations such as 1-a, B-2. C-C.
etc. are not allowed for macro key combinations.
When using macro editing keys. Insert, Delete.
Escape. Cursor Left/Right. Enter. etc. in a macro
string. you must first press the F 12 function key and
then the desired macro editing key. This will allow
the macro editing key to be accepted as part of the
macro string.
For example. if you wanted to enter a macro
string with the letters A. B. and C followed by the
INSERT key. you would press A. B. C. the Fl2
function key. and the Insert key:
ABC<F l 2><Ins>
The entry would be displayed as shown below:
ABC I
The black square indicates a macro editing key (non-
printable character) has been entered. Move the
cursor to the black square and notice that the ASCII
character and scan code for the INSERT key is
displayed in the black boxes in the right hand corner
of the screen.
