Installing the Glass Media
1. Place glass media in area between rear panel and front ramp as seen in Figure 43B below. Do not mound glass
media. No more than 3 lbs of glass media should be used in a 35" unit, 4 lbs of glass media in a 40" unit or 5 lbs of
glass media in a 45" unit.
NOTE: It is suggested to use a sifter to keep small glass particles off burner.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Do not place media inside square pilot shield (Figure 43C).

17. Installing and Removing the Glass Door
• Do not attempt to substitute the materials used on these doors, or replace cracked or
broken glass.
• Handle this glass with extreme care! Glass is susceptible to damage—Do not scratch or
handle roughly while reinstalling the glass door frame.
• The glass door of this appliance must only be replaced as a complete unit as provided by
the manufacturer. Do not attempt to replace broken, cracked or chipped glass separately.
Replacement of the glass should be done by a licensed or qualified service person.
• Do not attempt to touch the front enclosure glass with your hands while the fireplace is in
use.
A barrier designed to reduce the risk of burns from the hot viewing glass is provided
with this appliance and shall be installed for the protection of children and other at-risk
individuals.
