Recovery from Software Upgrade Failure

When any of the following problems occurs during software upgrade, upload the upgrade file manually to restore the
monitor or the controller.
This unit
• "Procedure failure" appeared at the bottom of the menu window during upgrade and no video signal is displayed
and menu operation from the controller is disabled even after power is turned off and on.
• The system has restarted after upgrade, but no video signal is displayed and menu operation from the controller is
disabled.
Controller（BKM-17R）
• "Err" appeared on the display window of the controller and the main power was turned off and on, but the display
window does not light and menu operation from the controller is disabled.
• The system has restarted after upgrade, but the display window does not light and menu operation from the
controller is disabled.
Note
This manual describes recovery from upgrade failure by using BKM-17R. When using another controller (such as
BKM-16R), refer to the service manual of the controller to be used.
Preparation
Equipment required
• Personal computer (PC)
OS: Windows 7 or Windows8, Windows8.1
• LAN cable:
Cross cable (For this unit)
Straight cable (For controller)
• Switching HUB
• RS-232C port (If PC does not have this function, prepare USB to RS-232C conversion bridge.)
• RS-232C, D-Sub 9pin straight cable (female to female)
• RS-232C cable conversion tool (JIG HARNESS DSUB 9P: 1-971-624-11)
• FTP client software (FFFTP)
• Terminal software (TeraTerm)
• USB flash drive *1
(Upgrade data is stored.)
*1: Memory Stick when BKM-16R is used
