The BVM-E series allows upgrade using USB flash drive or Memory Stick.
For details of upgrade, refer to the operating instructions or the operation manual for the BVM-E series.
This section describes a method of upgrading the unit or the controller by using BKM-17R and recovery method in the
case of a failure in upgrade.
For the upgrading procedure using BKM-16R, refer to the instruction manual of this unit and the BKM-16R operation
manual.

Upgrade Method
Note
• Do not remove the USB flash drive from the slot or disconnect the LAN cable between the monitor and the controller
during upgrade.
• Do not turn off the the monitor and the controller during upgrade.
• Confirm the software version.
If the software is already V1.01, it is possible to upgrade the software to V1.1 by the following procedure. However,
if the software is still V1.0, it is not possible to upgrade the software to V1.1 directly (by one step).
First of all, upgrade the software to V1.01 which is the bridge software, and then it is necessary to upgrade it to
V1.1. As for the upgrade to the bridge software (V1.01), contact to your local Sony's service office.
• When upgrading the software to V1.1, be sure to upgrade both the software and FPGA.

Preparation
Equipment required
• This unit, and the controller (BKM-17R) (At least one unit and one controller are required.）
• USB flash drive (Upgrade data is stored.)
Tip
For upgrade data, refer to
• LAN cable (straight cable)
Procedure
1.
Connect the unit to the controller with LAN cable. (Refer to the operating instructions of the unit.)
2.
Turn on the unit and the controller.
3.
Connect the USB flash drive to USB connector of the controller.

Software Upgrade
Procedure for upgrading the software of the monitor
1.
Select [Monitor Upgrade] from the [System Configuration] menu.
2.
Type the set 4-digit password.
For setting a password, refer to the instruction manual of the monitor.
The [Monitor Upgrade] window opens.
