Charging a Battery Pack

A battery pack in the computer battery bay or MultiBay charges
when the computer is plugged into external power.
You can charge a battery pack in the computer while the
computer is off or on and being used.
A fully discharged battery pack fully charges in approximately
1.5 hours if the computer is off and approximately 3 hours if
the computer is on.
The battery pack in the battery bay charges first.
When a battery pack is charging in the battery bay, the battery
power light
battery power light turns off.
When a battery pack is in the MultiBay, the MultiBay drive
light
is on while the battery pack is charging or waiting to be
charged.
Both the battery power light and the MultiBay drive light blink to
indicate a low-battery condition. Refer to "Identifying and
Resolving a Low-Battery Condition" in this chapter for more
information.

If two battery packs are inserted in the computer, the battery pack
in the MultiBay discharges first and the battery pack in the battery
bay discharges second.
You can also charge battery packs in the optional Battery Charger,
ArmadaStation, or Armada MiniStation EX.
