Using Computer Setup

Use Computer Setup to
Set custom features that are not available within Windows 95
Configure some new devices
When you select Computer Setup from the Compaq Utilities menu
and follow the onscreen instructions, the computer beeps once and
restarts.
To exit Computer Setup, click Exit on any View by Type or View
By Connection screen.

Viewing Menus

You can view menus in Computer Setup by clicking View or
Tools on the Computer Setup menu bar.
Click View to display Computer Setup menus by type, by
connection, or by resource type. These menus display the
viewing and configuration features available in Computer
Setup with icons and short descriptions.
By Type is the default menu. It displays Computer Setup
features by such categories as System Features,
Communication, Storage, Input Devices, Audio, Video, and
Other Devices.
By Connection displays Computer Setup features by such
categories as System Features, System Devices, PCI, and
PC Card (PCMCIA)
System Resources displays the allocations of such resource
types as IRQ, DMA, and memory addresses.
Click Tools to view a menu of features that you can select by
function. For example, you can select
Set Defaults to reestablish factory default settings.
Resource Priorities to change the priority of a resource
type such as IRQ, DMA, I/O address, and memory address.
Resolve Conflicts to resolve configuration conflicts.
Legacy to add Legacy devices, such as ISA devices, that
predate Plug and Play.
