New Installation

Use this procedure to install factory-configured FC-AL array controllers.
Equipment: Two FC-AL controller boards, one front panel, two 15 meter fiber optic
cables, two SCSI terminators, two cable clips, four SCSI terminators, and the Sun
StorEdge RAID Manager 6.22 CD and documentation set.
1. Remove the front panel from the controller module (
See Section 5.1.1 "Removing the Front Panel" on page 5-2.
Note – The front panel has a new bezel to accommodate the fibre optic cables.

2. Loosen and remove the six screws on the front of the controller module.
There are three screws on each side.
3. Loosen and remove the two screws on the back of the mounting rails; there is one
screw on each side.
Note that cable clips have been installed at the factory.
4. Slide the controller module backward until you feel resistance (approximately one
inch).
