MAINTENANCE PRACTICES

the
nose
wheel in this
position.

nose
wheel should be
parallel
to
the fore and the aft

tape
around
the
aft
end
of
the
shimmy
center
line of the
airplane
with
the rudder

1/32
to
1/4 inch from
the scraper

nose
gear
steering
actuator
arm
ring.

lock
nuts
on

adjustment
bolts
so
the

adjusted

nose
wheel travel is

100-HOUR INSPECTION
If
adjustment
is
required
the
following
procedure
is
recommended:
STEERING LINKAGE
Check
nose
steering
mechanism
for
condition, security
and
correct
adjustment.
a.
Loosen the lock
nuts
on
the
adjustment
bolts
so
they
clear the
stops
on
the
nose
wheel
straightener.
NOSE GEAR STEERING
Check
the
steering
bell crank
b.Turn
the
nose
wheel
to
the
extreme
left
turn
for
cracks,
condition and
security.
