COMPRESSOR REMOVAL WARNING
a.
Gain
access
to
the LH engine
accessory section.
The
air conditioning
system
is
a
high
pressure
b.
Remove electrical leads from compressor clutch
system. When disconnecting
a
line, loosen the
terminals.

enough
to
bleed off
pressure
slowly, then disconnect the fitting.

Remove the air conditioning
hoses and ducts from
the evaporator blower module.

install the attaching bolts and nuts.
CLEANING (TJ-3 and
after)
b. Install compressor belt
as
noted in
COMPRES-
SOR BELT INSTALLATION in this
Chapter.
a.
Locate the air outlet
at
the top
of the bulkhead
at
c.
Adjust belt tension
as
noted in COMPRESSOR FS 190.00. Remove
the air outlet louvered molding plate.

Remove upholstery panels
from the bulkhead
at

Remove caps from lines and compressor and in- FS 190.00.
stall lines
to the
fittings
on
the compressor.

Using clean
compressed air,
back blow all dust,

Install the electrical leads
to
the magnetic
clutch,
sand
and other contaminants
out
of the filter.
f. Service the system
with oil
as
noted in CHECKING

upholstery panels
with the filter

Charge the
system
with refrigerant
as
noted in

Install the air outlet louvered molding plate.
