Belt Replacement on FR 13, FR 2111, FR 2113A

On cutting units with rear ejection, the blades are
driven by a V-belt. Replace the V-belt as follows:
1. Dismantle the cutting unit.
2. Loosen the nut to the parallel strut and the two
screws on the cover. Lift off the cutting unit
cover.
WARNING!
Protect your hands with gloves
when working with the blades.
3. Loosen the spring that tensions the V-belt and
wriggle the belt off.
Attach a new belt in the reverse order.

Belt Replacement on FRM 13 A, FR 2113 MA

The 900 mm mulching unit has a toothed drive belt.
The drive belt powers and synchronises the rotation
of the blades. The belt is located under the cutting
unit cover.
1. Dismantle the cutting unit.
2. Loosen the front bolt on the parallel strut and
swing back the strut. Swing the height adjust-
ment strut forwards.
3. Remove the bolts holding the protective hood
and lift off the hood.
Tip: Mark the position of the blades on respec-
tive belts with a felt-tip pen.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
The blades on the mulching unit should
be positioned at 90° angles to each other.
Otherwise the blades can go against each
other and damage the cutting unit.
4. Loosen the nuts on the eccentric plate and twist
this round.
Remove the four nuts (see illustration), holding
the outer blade bearing, so much that the
bearing can be moved.
Slide the blade bearing inwards towards the
centre bearing and pull off the belt.
5. Assembly:
Check that the blades are positioned at 90° to
each other, as illustrated, otherwise the belt
must be refitted. When the blade bearing is
loose the belt can be guided over to the next
tooth.
Tighten so much that the bearings rest against
the cutting unit cover, but can still be moved.
Tension the belt by turning the eccentric ad-

juster on the top of the cutting unit cover.
Tighten the nut.
Tighten all nuts on the blade bearings.
6. When the belt movement inwards is (d) = 8 mm
with a force of (p) = 7 N, the belt tension is
correct.
7. Fit the protective cover over the belts and
secure the parallel strut.
