Airing the Hydrostatic Transmission's
Oil System

• Check the oil level in the hydrostatic transmis-
sion.
• Start the engine and set the accelerator to idle.

• Repeatedly engage and disengage the clutch
while alternately depressing the forward and
back pedals.
• When the rider begins to move, the throttle
should be increased to high engine speed.

• Repeat quick starts and emergency stops until
the transmission responds properly.
• Check the oil level in the hydrostatic transmission
and fill as needed.

Check the oil level after test running and top up as
needed.

Adjusting the Transmission's Neutral
Position

Air the hydrostatic transmission's oil system.

Lift the rear of the rider so that the wheels spin
freely and place jack stands under the machine.

• The neutral position is adjusted by turning the
hexagonal shaft on the transmission (see illustra-
tion).
• Start the engine and turn the throttle to full.
• Loosen the lock nut on the hexagonal shaft and
turn the shaft clockwise until the drive axles
begin to rotate backwards.
• Make a mark on the top of the shaft.
