Recovering from an
Interruption
Archive Operation
a.
After the unit ejects the tape, label it as indicated on this
screen.
b. Insert a new tape.
c.
After the tape drive lights stop blinking, click Next. The
unit checks the new tape and continues the backup.
Archive operations can be interrupted by any of the following:
•
A power failure.
•
An error during an archive operation.
•
Turning off system power without following the shutdown
procedure (see
Shutdown
•
Pressing the Reset button on the front panel.
•
Pressing the Eject button on the tape drive.
•
Rebooting the unit after a system error.
When this happens, the archive information on the tape is not
complete and must be recovered. Otherwise, the data cannot be
restored.
If the tape is still in the tape drive, the unit displays a message and
recovers the tape data automatically. Then it continues the archive
operation.
If the tape drive is empty, the Intellex unit asks you to insert a tape.
If you insert the correct tape, the unit displays a message and
recovers the tape data automatically. Then it continues the archive
operation.
