 Procedures
You can start from any of the procedures. Adjustment results of procedures (3) and (4) also affect other
unintended things.
(1) Change the image type.
Select "Presentation" or "Line Art", which gives priority to the reproduction of saturation, for Image
Type.
For details on how to make the change, refer to "3.2 To Make Print Suitable for the Original".
• By selecting "Presentation" or "Line Art", colors tend to be reproduced more darkly. As a result,
jaggies can become difficult to see.
• This adjustment will be effective, only if a file created on a general application, such as Microsoft
Office, is printed in PostScript (PS, XPS and Mac). It may not be effective, if a file created on a
graphic application (e.g. Illustrator) or a DTP application (e.g. QuarkXPress) is printed, or a PDF
file created on these applications is printed using the C, M, Y and K toners. Unmark the "Use
PostScript Passthrough" checkbox in the "PostScript Setting" options in the "Others" tab. The
"Image Quality Type" option will be effective, if printing on Windows (PS) is performed (but not on
Mac) or if a file created on the above applications is printed. However, the color balance may be
changed, and also the image quality may be diminished, depending on the type of file.
• Color tones may be changed accordingly.
(2) Perform sharpness adjustment.
By enhancing the sharpness, the boundary of text and lines will become darker. As a result, jaggies
can become difficult to see.
For details of the adjustment procedure, refer to "3.1.4 Sharpness Adjustment".
• This adjustment will be reflected only when printing is performed by selecting "600 dpi".
(3) Perform fine line / text density adjustment.
By increasing the density of thin lines and small text, jaggies can become difficult to see.
For details of the adjustment procedure, refer to "3.1.6 Fine Line / Text Density Adjustment".
(4) Perform color balance adjustment.
By increasing the density of lines and text with this adjustment, jaggies can become difficult to see.
For details of the adjustment procedure, refer to "3.1.5 Color Balance Adjustment".
