Safety
DIN EN 61131-2 ¢ IEC 61131-2 ¢ VDE 0411, Part 500
The overtemperature of the metal housing amounts to approx.
20 K under full load. At 60°C ambient temperature the limiting
temperature of 70°C is thus exceeded. Above this temperature
safe contact (to DIN EN 61131–2) is not possible without pro-
tection.
Only extra low voltage separated safely from the system may
be used for the 24 V DC supply.
Safe separation can be realized in accordance with the requi-
rements e.g. in VDE 0100 Part 410 ¢ HD 384-4-41 ¢
IEC 364-4-41 (as functional extra–low voltage with safety se-
paration PELV) or in VDE 0805 ¢ EN 60950 ¢ IEC 950 (as
safety extra–low voltage SELV) or in VDE 0106 Part 101.
6DL3100–8AA/–8AB/–8AC is an "open device" in accordance
with DIN IEC 61131–2 and an "open type" in accordance with
the UL/CSA certification
In order to fulfill the requirements for safe operation with regard
to mechanical strength, flame retardance, stability and shock
protection the following alternative installation types are pre-
scribed:
– Installation in a suitable cabinet
– Installation in a suitable housing
– Only permitted in accordance with DIN EN 61131–2:
Installation in a correspondingly equipped closed operating
area
The control–to–load isolation for the areas described in Sec-
tion 4.1 is designed to 50 V in nominal operation. In the routine
test the dielectric test is carried out in accordance with UL 508
(test voltage / test duration 707 V DC / 1 min or alternatively
849 V DC / 1 s at de–activated test specimen).
Degree of protection IP 20 in accordance with IEC 529, i.e.
protection against contact with standard probes. There is no
protection against ingressing water.
None
