Mounting the AddFEM

The fastening elements of the AddFEM can be modified. This means that the
AddFEM can be mounted alternatively on DIN rails or with screws to a wall.
Both the cables for the 24 V DC supply of the module as well as the process ca-
bles are to be clamped to the strain relief.
Mounting in Accordance with DIN EN 61131–2
6DL3100–8AA/–8AB/–8AC is an "open device" in accordance with DIN EN
61131–2 and an "open type" in accordance with the UL/CSA certification
In order to fulfill the requirements for safe operation with regard to mechanical
strength, flame retardance, stability and shock protection the following alternative
installation types are prescribed:
– Installation in a suitable cabinet
– Installation in a suitable housing
– Only permitted in accordance with DIN EN 61131–2:
Installation in a correspondingly equipped closed operating area.
Caution
!
The overtemperature of the metal housing amounts to approximately 20 K under
full load. At 60
below which completely harmless contact (according to DIN EN 61131–2) is possi-
ble without protection.
Fastening Possibilities
The following fastening possibilities are prepared:
S DIN rail mounting on twin DIN rail (standard configuration at delivery)
S Direct wall mounting with screws
DIN Rail Mounting
165.1 mm are specified for the distance from the upper to the lower rail (center–to–
center) (refer to dimensioned drawing for DIN rail mounting).
In order to ensure that the module is held securely the DIN rail construction must
have a minimum strength. We therefore recommend that you use a DIN rail con-
struction conforming to DIN EN 50022 (min. material thickness 2.2 mm) with a fa-
stening spacing on less than 25 cm (this means that if a rail is 19" long, the DIN rail
has to be fastened in the middle in addition to the fastening at the sides).
