• perform a cold start initialization (which loads a default database, writing over your custom
database), and then
• reload the saved database over the default database.
Follow the detailed procedure in Section 4.2, Adding Hardware to an Existing System (Making Sure
the DX 80 Recognizes It).
If you have an existing database, and do not have access to PC-DBA, you must program using the tele-
phone. When you take the system down and reintialize it, you will have to re-program your database
afterwards.
If circumstances on the customer site keep you from performing a cold restart, perform the following
steps using the telephone.
1. Dial into the programming mode and enter 01-(101~156)-21. The range of numbers in the mid-
dle of this command represent the extension's port type. The voice mail ports are in range 157-
164. Press save.
2. Press chg until the port type "VM" displays for this extension.
3. Press HOLD to return to the previous menu level, or press the Up or Down Volume arrows to
return to the DB Item.
4. Return to the Selection screen.
5. Next, you will be checking the UCD group numbers. Enter 06-01-24-03-01. The 24 in the
middle of this command represents the UCD group number. Press save. This advances to
member #1 of the new UCD Group selected.
6. Press chg.
7. Enter the extension number of the digital channel you want to program into this member (at
default the digital channels of DX-80 Voicemail are 157, 158, 159, 160, 161, 162, 163, 164.)
Press save.
8. Press next.
9. Repeating steps 6 through 8, program all voice mail channels as members of this UCD group.
10. Press HOLD to return to the previous menu level or press the Up or Down Volume arrows to
return to the DB Item
11. Return to the Selection screen.
12. Next, you will be checking the UCD assignment for the Voice Mail Hunt group. Enter 06-02-
(1~3)-01. The range of numbers in the middle of this command represent the tenant group
number (usually 1). Press save. This advances you to Voice Mail Table for Tenant 1 – Hunt
Group.
13. Press chg until the UCD group you want to use as the VM hunt group displays (new UCD
Group selected and programmed with digital channel members.)
14. Press next to continue programming the various call handling digits (Prefix/Suffix).
15. Press HOLD to return to the previous menu level, or press Up or Down Volume arrows to return
to the DB Item
16. Exit programming.
17. Test to see if these changes have corrected the problem. If not, you MUST reinitialize the sys-
tem. Go Section 4.2, Adding Hardware to an Existing System (Making Sure the DX 80 Recog-
nizes It) and follow the instructions.
