1. Remove all external media from the drives and turn off all attached devices and the server. Then,
disconnect all power cords from electrical outlets and disconnect all cables that are connected to
the server.
2. Prepare your server. See "Removing or extending the server from the rack cabinet" on page 57.
3. Remove the server cover. See "Removing the server cover" on page 57.
4. Remove the riser card assembly 1. See "Replacing the riser card assembly" on page 133.
5. Locate the SD module. See "Server components" on page 23.
6. Press the release latch
Note: Carefully handle the SD module by its edges.

7. Remove the installed SD card from the SD module.
8. If you are instructed to return the old SD module, follow all packaging instructions and use any
packaging materials that are supplied to you for shipping.
