4.3 Safety Inspection Checklist

IMPORTANT!
– Perform this inspection every 12 months.
– The frequency of inspection must be increased,
if the product is continuously exposed to high
humidity, high condensation and corrosives
(e.g. chlorine or ammonia gases), to prevent
product impairment.
Rail system
q
Check that all brackets are tightened correctly to the
ceiling/wall. Retighten, if necessary.
q
Check reinforcement. If not possible, do a load test
with 1.5 x rated load for 20 minutes.
q
Check and retighten end stops.
q
Systems with track connections: Check if the connection
has become misaligned during use. Re-align if needed.
q
Check trolley and traverse trolley.
q
Check trolley wheels for smooth movement and
abnormal noise.
q
Check friction break adjustment on trolleys. Adjust if
necessary.
q
Do a load test with rated load through the entire
system.
q
Place a sticker with a new date for the next inspection.
Rail system with transit coupling connections:

Check the lock fixtures:
– secure to tracking
– each claw moves independently
– correctly aligned with tracking slots
– no obstructions to prevent correct function
– safety plate is fitted.
q
Check traverse trolley mounting fixtures.
q
Check tracking alignment. Re-align if necessary.
q
Function test transit coupling / lock fixture (10 times -
disable left / right claw x 5).
q
Check that gap between track and transit coupling is
max. 3 mm.
q
Function test under load (5 cycles with Safe Working
Load).
q
Check inlay plate is fitted (L and M rail).

Check suspension and cross pin.
q
Check steel and plastic gearwheels for wear and
damage.
If gearwheels are dry, apply gearwheel grease.
q
Check loose strap sensor and adjust if necessary.
q
Check straps for wear and damage.
q
Check guide cylinder and end stops.
q
Check the lifting hooks, screws and pins for wear and
damage.
q
Check that a sticker with maximum load is placed on
the hoist.
q
Do a full lifting cycle with rated load — must be
effortless and without jarring sound.
q
Place a sticker with a new date for next inspection.
