Gateway.

At the customer site

Use the following procedure to replace the S8300 hard drive or the S8300 Server (including its
hard drive).

Important:
You need to perform a few steps on the Server (Maintenance) Web page before

you physically replace the S8300 hardware.
For the 5.2 release of Communication Manager, click Server (Maintenance) from the
Administration menu on the Communication Manager System Management
Interface Web page.
For a pre-5.2 release of Communication Manager, click the Launch Maintenance
Web Interface link on the Integrated Management Standard Management
Solutions Web page.
The fields referenced in this procedure are from the Server (Maintenance) Web page.
Hence, some of the fields may vary depending on the version of Communication
Manager you are using.

Important:
Check if the customer requires the backup data to be stored at specific location
Important:
since backing up data is critical to ensure data restore.
1. If the S8300 hardware is still functional or can be made functional, connect your laptop to
the Services port on the S8300 and access the Server (Maintenance) Web page.
If you do not know whether the S8300 hardware is functional, perform the following
procedure to determine if it is functional:
a. Connect the customer's laptop (with a crossover cable) to the Services port on the
S8300, open the Internet Explorer browser, and connect to http://192.11.13.6.
b. If you do not get the Welcome screen, skip to Step f.
