Connecting Resistance Thermometers (e.g. PT 100) with 6ES5 460-7LA12
A constant-current generator supplies the series-connected resistance thermometers (max.
8 PT 100s) with a current of 2.5 mA over pins "S+" and "S -".
If you use the 498-1AA11 submodule, you must terminate the unused input channels with a short-
circuiting jumper (see Figure 10-6, range card 2; channels 5 and 6).

If no PT 100 is connected to input channels 4 to 7, other voltages and currents can be measured on
these channels using range cards 498-1AA21, -1AA31, -1AA41, -1AA51, -1AA61 or -1AA71.
