Keyless Entry System (If Equipped) Symptom Diagnosis

NOTE
Confirm that power door lock system is in good condition before referring to the following possible
causes.
Condition
All doors are not locked /
unlocked by only keyless
entry transmitter
Turn signal lights are not
flashed when doors are
locked / unlocked by
keyless entry transmitter
Interior light does not turn
ON when doors are
unlocked by keyless entry
transmitter

Keyless Entry System Operation Inspection

1) Confirm that power door lock system is good condition.
2) Confirm that all doors are closed and unlocked.
3) Check the following operation:
a) When pushing "lock" button (1) on transmitter (2) once, check all doors lock and hazard waning lights flash
once.
b) When pushing "unlock" button (3) on transmitter (2) twice, check all doors unlock and hazard waning lights
flash twice and interior light turn on several seconds with the interior light switch in the middle position.
If check result is not satisfied, go to "Keyless Entry System Circuit Inspection".
Possible cause
Transmitter battery dead
Door switch faulty
Transmitter faulty
Key remainder switch in ignition switch
faulty
Power door lock controller faulty
Wiring or grounding faulty
Power door lock controller faulty
Wiring or grounding faulty
Power door lock controller faulty
Wiring or grounding faulty
Correction / Reference Item
Replace battery.
Check door switch referring to "Door Switch
(Front / Rear Door) Inspection in Section 9C".
Replace transmitter.
Check ignition switch referring to "Ignition
Switch Inspection in Section 9C".
Replace power door lock controller.
Repair.
Check system referring to "Keyless Entry
System Circuit Inspection".
Check system referring to "Keyless Entry
System Circuit Inspection".
Check system referring to "Keyless Entry
System Circuit Inspection".
Check system referring to "Keyless Entry
System Circuit Inspection".
