THROTTLE CABLE PLAY

Inspect initially at 1 000 km (5 months) and every
4 000 km (20 months) thereafter.
Adjust the throttle cable play A with the following procedures.
• Loosen the lock-nut 1 of the throttle cable.
• Turn the adjuster 2 in or out until the throttle cable play A at
the throttle grip is between 2.0 – 4.0 mm.
• Tighten the lock-nut 1 while holding the adjuster 2.
% Throttle cable play A: 2.0 – 4.0 mm

After the adjustment is completed, check that handle-
bar movement does not raise the engine idle speed
and that the throttle grip returns smoothly and auto-
matically.

IDLE SPEED

Inspect initially at 1 000 km (5 months) and every
4 000 km (20 months) thereafter.
NOTE:
Warm up the engine before adjusting the engine idle speed.
• Connect an electric tachometer.
• Start up the engine and set its speed at anywhere between
1 300 and 1 500 r/min by turning the throttle stop screw.
% Engine idle speed: 1 400 ± 100 r/min
