The Display

The Indicator Lights

The Control Panel's display performs two functions.
1. It informs you of printer status conditions, such as when toner
is low, when a paper tray is empty, when a job is in process,
and so on. For example, when you turn on the printer, you see
the following message on the display:
R e a d y
This message appears whenever the printer is online and ready
to accept print jobs. The display will also show:
when processing data.
P r o c e s s i n g
when waiting for more data.
W a i t i n g
2. It presents a hierarchy of menu options and settings to
configure and control the printer.
For example, when you press Menu Up
, you will see the following two-line message on the
Down
display:
M e n u s
(such as
Item M e n u

information on indicators.
See the section "Main Menu" (page 3-13) for information on the
Menu system hierarchy.
The four indicator lights provide information about the operation of
the printer.
Table 3.1 on page 3-4 describes the function of each Indicator
Light.
