Using the Hard Disk Drive for Secure and Proof Jobs
Job names can be up to 16 alphanumeric characters and passwords must
contain four numeric characters (0-7). The printer assigns a default job
name if no name or a name with a syntax error is used. The job name is
displayed on the Control Panel Password menu when the associated
password is entered. If a password is not assigned or the password
contains syntax errors, the job is not printed and is discarded.
The following example creates a Secure Job named "Bond" with a
password of 0007:
< E S C > % - 1 2 3 4 5 X @ P J L X S E C U R E J O B
@ P J L X J O B P A S S W O R D = 0 0 0 7
@ P J L J O B N A M E = " B o n d "
@ P J L E N T E R L A N G U A G E = P C L
. . . P C L f i l e . . .
< E S C > % - 0 1 2 3 4 5 X @ P J L E O J
< E S C > % - 0 1 2 3 4 5 X
The printer processes all data following the @PJL ENTER
LANGUAGE = PCL command as part of the Secure Job named "Bond."
The job is stored on the hard disk under the name "Bond" with a
password of "0007" as defined in the @PJL XJOBPASSWORD
command. The @PJL EOJ command signifies the end of the secure job.
The EOJ command should be followed by a UEL command.
