Removal
1.
Turn the power off.
2.
Remove the print unit.
3.
Remove the type belt and remove the
ribbon from the ribbon guides.
4.
Remove the lower ribbon shield

To remove the upper ribbon shield
Ii,
lift
the print position scale approximately
1.5 inch (38.1 mm) at both ends, then
remove the two holding screws.
6.
Remove the seal from the screw heads

then remove the screws and the platen.
Replacement
1.
Install the platen with the mounting screws
and washers, do not tighten.
Note:
Do not use seal after installing the
new platen.
2.
Do the platen gap adjustment (4.6.11).
