Check Engine Lamp Not Illuminated at Key On
Disconnect Electronic Control Module
connect Breakout Box. Turn Ignition

Switch ON. Jumper Breakout Box
(Black) terminal "'23" to Ground. Check
Replace

ECM.

Turn Ignition Switch ON. Set Engine Stop
Does the engine start?
YES
Set Engine Stop Switch to OFF.
(ECM) connector [10] (Black) and
engine lamp should be ON.
Is it?
YES NO
Connect jumper wire from
terminal "7" at connector
[39] to ground.
Is check engine lamp ON?
YES
Repair open or short to
Instrument Module.
voltage on (BK/Y) wire
Inspect check engine
between connector [39]
and connector [10B]
(Black).
YES
Replace
bulb.
Switch to RUN.
NO
Did check engine lamp and
no start conditions occur
simultaneously?
YES
No ECM power.
Refer to NO
ECM POWER.
NO
Disassemble
After replacing ECM or TPS, the TPS zero
set procedure must be performed. Refer to
lamp bulb. THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR in the
Bulb failed? appropriate BUELL SERVICE MANUAL.

Replace Instrument

MODULE in the
appropriate Buell
Service Manual.

CRANKS BUT WILL
NOT START for no start
condition and then return
to 2.10 CHECK ENGINE
