Disconnect Active Intake Solenoid
[178A] at the solenoid. Measure
voltage at terminal "2" with the Ignition
Switch ON and the Engine Stop
Is battery voltage present?
Measure voltage at [178A]

Is battery voltage present?
YES
Locate and repair
short to voltage on
(GY/O) wire.
Is the active intake system cable
pinched or binding?
Is the Active Intake Solenoid stuck ?
YES
Remove the active intake
solenoid connector [178A] and
Repair as
inspect connections.

Are all connections tight and free
of corrosion?
YES
Clean and repair
connections.
Switch ON.

If DTC is historic, then wiggle harness while
performing measurements in chart to indicate
intermittents.

Disconnect connector [179B].
Measure resistance at terminal "2" to
chassis ground.
Is resistance less than 10,000 ohms?
YES
Locate and repair
short to ground
(W/GY) wire.
YES
Locate and
repair open to
(W/GY) wire.

[179B] terminal "2".
Is continuity present?
NO
