Start System Relay: DTC P0617 (46) (Part 1 of 2)
NOTE: Before performing this test,
ensure the battery is fully charged and
all relevant fuses are good. Recharge
or replace a suspect battery and replace
blown fuses.

Press start switch.
Does starter rotate?
YES
System operation

Check continuity
between connector [62B]
terminal "19" and GND.
Is continuity present?
YES
Replace Key
Switch Relay.
Problem solved.
Place transmission in neutral and
turn ignition switch ON.
Does NEUTRAL lamp on IM and
headlamp illuminate?
Headlamp does not illuminate
with ignition switch ON (neutral
Is headlamp burned out?
YES
NO
Perform Starting
System Check. Replace
headlamp.
YES
Remove Key Switch Relay and measure voltage
at connector [62B] terminal "11".
Is battery voltage present?
YES
Check continuity between connector
[33B] terminal "3" (R/BK) and connector
[62B] terminal "11" (R/BK).
Is continuity present?
NO YES
Locate and repair Replace Key

Headlamp Illuminated?
NO
YES
Replace Start
Relay.
NO
Neutral lamp does not illuminate with
ignition switch ON (headlamp OK).
