Logging A flat file is used to store information about items including:
Database An XML database is kept for persistent information including:
Web server The Apache Tomcat web server will handle transaction
handling, client sessions, and serving up web pages.
Integration with the CS 2100 NMS The cross-platform of Java and the
web interface will make the integration with the CS 2100 NMS possible
since the CS 2100 NMS's strategy is to be on the Solaris platform with
web interfaces.
System architecture
The M3900/EXPEC Firmware Manager architecture allows the load
transfer function of the M3900 and EXPEC to be integrated into the CS
2100 management system. The web application is written in Java and runs
on a Tomcat web server providing cross-platform support. The architecture
consists of the EXPEC controller card which communicates with the
M3900 sets. The MEFM application communicates with the EXPEC
through Telnet. The web clients communicate with the MEFM application
through secure HTTP using a browser. FTP may be used, if necessary, to
retrieve the firmware load from a file server.
