136 Features firmware and software management
EXPEC load management MEFM will provide load management for the
EIPE controller card (EXPEC). Load management of the EXPEC loads will
include the ability to:
The loads are transferred through the Ethernet portion the EXPEC card.
The advantage of transferring the load files through the Ethernet is that the
transfer time is greatly reduced and that the IPE remains in service while
the load file is being transferred. Once a load is transferred to the IPE and
set as the "bootable" load, the IPE must be BSY'd (busied) and RTS'd
(returned to service) before the new load takes effect on that IPE.
Integrated Element Management Systems (IEMS) For information
about configuration management in Nortel Integrated EMS, please refer to
Integrated EMS Configuration Management, , NN10330-511.
M3900 firmware maintenance MEFM provides load management and
load maintenance for the M3900 sets. The load management functions
include:
The maintenance of the loads will include the ability to schedule sending
the loads to one of the M3900 or sequentially to all M3900s on an IPE or
multiple IPEs.
