6.7.4 How to Install Internal 2.5-inch Hard Disk Units

This section explains how to install internal 2.5-inch hard disk units.

Open the rack door.

Turn off the server and all peripheral devices, and unplug all power cables from
the server.

Touch a metal part of the server to discharge static electricity from your body.

Remove the dummy unit from the bay where an internal hard disk unit will be
installed.
Dummy units are installed in bays where no internal hard disk units are installed. Pressing the tab
on right side of the dummy unit inward, pull the unit out towards you.
Keep the removed dummy units for later use.

Install the internal hard disk unit in the server.
1. Open the cover pressing the tab.
2. Insert the internal hard disk unit into the bottom of the bay and close the cover.

How to remove internal 2.5-inch hard disk units
To remove the internal 2.5-inch hard disk units, simply reverse the installation procedure.
