ETV check

• Do not disassemble the ETV.
• Do not loosen the throttle stop screw nut
or turn the throttle stop screw.
• Do not loosen or remove the throttle valve
shaft screws.

1. Turn the throttle valve manually and check
that it moves smoothly.

Fuel injector check

1. Check the fuel injector filter "a". Clean us-
ing kerosene or gasoline if clogged or con-
taminated.

2. Measure the fuel injector resistance. See
"Fuel injector check" (7-29).

Fuel rail and injector installation

1. Install new O-rings "1" onto the fuel injec-
tors, and then apply a thin coat of engine
oil to the O-rings "1".
2. While turning the fuel injectors "1" slowly to
the left and right, install them to the fuel rail
c
"2".
Make sure to apply a thin coat of engine oil
to the O-rings before installing the fuel in-
jectors to the fuel rail. Otherwise, the O-
rings could twist and break, causing fuel
leakage.
3. Install new seals "1" and the fuel rail "2",
and then tighten the fuel rail bolts "3" to the
specified torque.
Do not reuse a seal, always replace it with a
new one.
