Playback Controls

The following playback types are available using either the playback buttons
on the monitor unit ("Buttons" in the table below) or the onscreen joystick
guide and any of the joysticks.
Playback type
Buttons: Press the Ø or × button.
Joystick: During playback, push the joystick up or down.
Fast playback
Repeat to increase the playback speed to approximately 5x
15x
Frame advance/reverse
Joystick: During playback pause, push the joystick up or down.
Buttons: Press the Ù button.
Skip to the beginning of
the next clip
Joystick: Push the joystick right.
Buttons: Press the Ú button.
Skip to the beginning of
the current clip
Joystick: Push the joystick left.
Buttons: Press the Ú button twice.
Skip to the previous clip
Joystick: Push the joystick left twice.
Buttons: Press the Ò button.
Return to playback mode
Joystick: Press the joystick itself (SET button).
NOTES
• There is no audio during any of the playback types listed in the previous table.
• During some playback modes, you may notice some anomalies (blocky video artifacts, banding, etc.) in the
playback picture.
• The speed indicated on the screen is approximate.
• If the clip's bit rate setting includes Long GOP compression, during frame advance, the time advanced
between frames depends on the video configuration used: 0.2 seconds (when the frame rate is 59.94P), 0.24
seconds (when the frame rate is 50.00P) and approximately 0.5 seconds for other video configurations.
• You can press the DISP. button on the monitor unit or an assignable button set to [Display] (A 131) to turn
the joystick guide display on and off.

Adjusting the Volume

You can connect headphones to the × (headphone) terminal to listen to
the audio during playback. Adjust the headphone volume with the
[¡ Audio Setup] > [Audio Output] > [Headphone Volume] setting. If
you set an assignable button to [Headphones +] or [Headphones –]
(A 131), you can press the button to adjust the headphone volume
without using the menu.
The audio signal will also be output from the REC OUT terminal, MON.
terminal and HDMI OUT terminal.
