PROBLEM
The transceiver does not turn ON. • The battery is exhausted.
No sound from speaker, or sound
is muffled.
Transmitting is impossible, or high
power can not be selected.
The displayed channel cannot be
changed.
Scan does not start
No beep sounds.
The battery icon blinks, and "Er"
and "CHG" are displayed.
The battery cannot be fully
charged.
POSSIBLE CAUSE
• The squelch level is too high.
• Volume level is too low.
• The Volume Mute function is ON.
• Speaker has been exposed to
water.
• Some channels are limited to low
power or only receive.
• The output power is set to low.
• The battery is exhausted.
• The Lock function is activated.
• Less than 2 channels are set as
Favorite channel.
(Only Favorite channels are scanned.)
• Beep Tone function is turned OFF. • Turn ON the Beep Tone in the Set mode. Page 18
• The battery is charged outside
the charging temperature range of
0°C (+32°F) to +45°C (+113°F).
• The battery temperature becomes
hot such as after continuously
transmitting for long time.
• The transceiver power is turned
ON while charging.
• The internal battery has becomes
weak.

TROUBLESHOOTING

SOLUTION
• Charge the battery.
• Adjust the squelch level.
• Adjust the volume level.
• Turn OFF the function.
• Remove water from the speaker grill.
• Select a different channel.
• Push [Hi/Lo] to select high power.
• Charge the battery.
• Hold down [ ] (Hi/Lo) for 1 second to
turn OFF the function.
• Set desired channels as Favorite
channels.
• Keep the transceiver in a cool place until
the internal battery cools down.
• Turn OFF the transceiver's power, and
then charge the battery again.
• Replace the internal battery. Ask your
dealer for details.
