Removing a 3½ inch empty module
Empty modules protect free locations from environmental influences. Remove the empty
i
module before installing an additional drive.
► Press together the two tongues on the empty module until the clip releases (1).
► Pull the empty module out of its location (2).
CAUTION!

Keep the empty module. If you have removed a drive and not replaced it with a new one,
then the empty module must be reinstalled for cooling purposes, to comply with the
conditions of the EMC (electromagnetic compatibility) regulations and to protect against
fire. Make certain that the empty module engages properly in the location.
