    Chapter 5: Advanced Motherboard Setup Chapter 5 Advanced Motherboard Setup This section describes the connections on the motherboard and provides pinout definitions. Note that depending on how the system is configured, not all connections are required. The LEDs on the motherboard are also described here. A motherboard layout indicating component locations may be found in Chapter 1.

    SUPERSERVER 1018L-MP User's Manual Processor Installation The X10SLV supports a 4th generation Intel Core i7, i5, i3, Pentium or Celeron, processor. Refer to the Supermicro website for updates on CPU support. Important: • When handling the processor package, avoid placing direct pressure on the label area of the fan.

    Installing Memory Memory Support The X10SLV motherboard supports up to 16GB of DDR3 non-ECC SO-DIMM up to 1600MHz in two low-profile horizontal slots. Check the Supermicro website for a list of memory modules that have been validated. Installing the Memory DIMMs Insert one or two SO-DIMMs into the memory slots, starting with DIMMA1, then DIMMB1.

These include the data cables for the peripherals and power button/LED and the power cables. Connecting Data Cables The cables used to transfer data from the peripheral devices have been carefully routed to prevent them from blocking the flow of cooling air that moves through the system from front to back.
