Did you turn off the power or press the reset button on the host system with the
Access LED (green) being on? Contact your service representative.
Are the logical disks of the disk array unit assigned? Assign the logical disks
appropriately using NEC Storage Manager or contact your service representative.

Fault LED Indicator Description

The disk array unit is equipped with several fault LEDs that light to indicate failures. If
the disk array unit is defected, the Service LED on the disk array unit lights orange and
the LED specific for each unit goes on to indicate the defected unit.
The table below shows the relation between the LED indicating the occurrence of a
fault and the defected unit.
LED indication
The Hard Disk Fault LED of the hard
disk drive is lit.
The Fault LED of the controller is lit
orange.
The Power Fault LED of the power
supply is lit orange.
The Fault LED of the LAN card is lit
orange.
The Fault LED of the LAN card is
flashing orange. (Shutdown process
failed.)

Defected unit
The disk drive with the Fault LED being on is
defected.
The controller with the Fault LED being on is defected.
The power supply with the Fault LED being on is
defected, or the battery backup unit installed in the
power supply unit is defected. Use NEC Storage
Manager to identify the defected one.
The LAN card with the Fault LED being on is
defected.
The controller with the Fault LED on or a disk drive is
probably defected. Check if another Fault LED is on.
Contact your service representative.
