5.4.1 Installation

1. Remove the cover plate and ring from the side of the fireplace and discard them. Save the screws for Step
#2.
Center the Duct Collar Assembly around the exposed hole and attach it to the fireplace with the 5 screws

3. Determine the location for the air register/fan housing assembly. Frame a 7 3/4-inch x 12 1/2-inch (197 x
318 mm) hole between the framing members (wall studs or floor joists).
4. Mount the fan housing assembly to the framing members of the wall or floor surface, and secure it using
nails (not provided in kit).

Do this before final positioning of the fireplace (See Figure 2).
