In order to not have to unplug every device, it is a good idea to plug your computer and its peripherals on
a power strip with a switch so that you can shut everything down with one click.
Consumables
Use as few consumables as possible.

Optical Media

Choose high quality discs. Check that they are adapted to your equipment.
When you burn a CD or DVD, respect the indications of the software in order not to waste a support
from incorrect use.
Use a slow burning speed, your media will have a longer life.
Do not use other software at the same time when burning a CD or DVD.
Take care of your CDs and DVDs to avoid damaging them (see
Paper and Ink
If you have a printer, print your documents only when necessary. If you don't feel comfortable reading on
screen, think about modifying your monitor's settings (check your monitor's documentation).
Limit your ink consumption by avoiding to print coloured backgrounds or useless pages.
Spare paper by using recto-verso mode as much as possible.
Note:
Your printer probably features a draft mode. This mode allows to spare ink, and can be very
useful for test printing or when you don't need a great print quality. To use this mode, click on
Properties in the Print window and modify the print mode.
Resources Sharing
Sharing a device such as a printer with others allows to make it more profitable, and to avoid redundant
and under-exploited equipment. Sharing resources is a step toward ecology.
Disposal
When your computer reaches the end of its life, do not dispose of it anywhere: respect the instructions
