Check that the CD or DVD you have inserted is not defective by inserting another one.
Close other programs when writing to an optical-RW drive. Read the CD/DVD burning tips in your on-
line documentation.
Computer Stops Responding
One application may not be responding: press ALT+CTRL+DEL. From the Task Manager window,
end the application that is not responding.
Your computer may be overheating. Check that the vents are not obstructed in anyway. Power off the
system by pressing the button for at least 4 seconds. Allow it to cool down before turning it back on.

Problems Running New Application Software

Problems occurring when you run new application software are usually related to the software. Faulty
equipment is much less likely, especially if other software runs correctly. Normally, the documentation
provided with the software should help you solve the problem. You can also use the checklist below to see
if the situation may be easily corrected.
If the problem persists after you have checked these items, contact the software vendor's customer
service.
An Original Software is Defective.
Try using SmartRestore to re-install the program. Refer to:

Visit the NEC Computers S.A.S. web site at www.nec-computers.com. The Support section may
contain updated programs that may solve your problem.
New Software Has Been Installed
Does the system meet the minimum hardware requirements for the software? Refer to the software
documentation.
Is the software an authorised copy? Unauthorised copies often do not work. Obtain an authorised copy
of the software.
Is the software correctly installed? Were all necessary procedures followed and files installed? Did you
restart your computer when prompted to do so?
Are the correct device drivers installed?
Are the correct video drivers installed?
Is the software correctly configured for the system?
Are you using the software correctly?
