Around the Left Side of the System

Discovering Your Computer
The left side of your notebook computer provides the features shown in the figure.
A
AC Power Port - lets you attach the notebook computer to the AC power source using the AC adapter
that comes with your system. Keep the system connected to AC power whenever possible to keep the
battery pack and internal CMOS battery charged. Refer to

VGA Port - use this 15-pin port to attach an external monitor to your notebook computer. Refer to

LAN Port (C) - a 10/100/1000 Mbps LAN feature is included with your system. Refer to the

Fan Vents - allow your system to cool properly and maintain a safe operating environment.
Warning:
do not block the fan vents while the notebook computer is in use.

USB Ports - a Universal Serial Bus (USB) port allows you to connect an USB-equipped peripheral
device (for example a printer, a mouse or a keyboard) to your notebook computer. Refer to
