BRAKE MASTER CYLINDERS
Empty the hydraulic circuit and drain the fluid into a con-
tainer so that it may be disposed of in compliance with
statutory environmental and waste disposal legislation.
Beware of possible spills and splashes of
brake fluid. Brake fluid is highly corrosive
and can cause personal injury and damage
painted parts of the scooter.
•
Remove upper handlebar cover.
•
Unscrew and remove union (A).
•
Remove brake fluid line (B) and gaskets (C).
•
Disconnect brake light switch (S).
•
Undo screws (V2) and remove U clamp (D).
•
Remove master cylinder unit (E).
•
To refit the master cylinder first start the lower screw
(using a long "T" handle wrench) without tightening it
and then start the upper screw, then tighten both
screws to the prescribed torque.
After assembling the brake master cylinders
(front/rear), fit brake line banjo union (B),
interposing two new gaskets (C) and tighten
the union screw (A) to the prescribed tor-
que.

NOTE Always fill the brake circuit with new brake
fluid after refitting a master cylinder.
