CHECK THE DISC AND PADS OF THE REAR
BRAKE FOR WEAR
• Take the opportunity to check also wear of the brake
disc.
If the disc is badly damaged or the thickness less than
3.5 mm, it must be renewed.
Minimum thickness of the pads is 2 mm.
Note For overhauling the caliper, see the specific
Chapter.

REAR WHEEL

• (Remove silencer).
• (Remove right-hand rear shock-absorber).
• (Remove rear brake caliper).
• Straighten split pin (A).
• Turn wheel until pin (A) is aligned with pocket, then
extract split pin.
• Extract vibration damper ring (B) and nut cover (C),
then unscrew underlying nut (D).

100 ± 10%
• Remove spacer (E) from the wheel spindle.
When refitting the wheel spacer (E) must be
positioned with the largest diameter side
towards the wheel bearing, as shown in the
photo.
