Menu item Purpose
Darkness Specifies the level of darkness
for the copy job.
Output Bin Specifies the bin which
receives the copy once it is
printed.
Number of Specifies the number of copies
Copies for the copy job.
Overlay Specifies the selection for
overlay text to print on each
page of the copy job.
The overlay looks similar to
the following on a page:
Custom Specifies a custom overlay.
Overlay
Allow priority Allows interruption to a
copies network print job, so the MFP
may be used as a copier to
copy a page or document.
Custom Job Specifies if Custom Job
scanning scanning is On or Off.
This is also known as Job
Build.
Custom Job is not supported
on all models.
Background Adjusts the amount of
Removal background visible on a copy.
Contrast Specifies the contrast used for
the copy job. The default is
dependent on the Content
menu item. If the Content
menu item is reset from the
default setting, then the default
for Contrast is reset, also.
Using the MFP menus
Values and descriptions
1–9 (5*) A graphic representation depicts the values. As the
right or left scroll button is touched, the asterisk
moves back and forth on the line. 1 is next to the - and
9 is next to the +. As shown, 5 is the current value.

*Standard Bin This menu item displays when at least one optional
output bin is installed.

Confidential The Custom value is not shown unless text is entered
into the Custom Overlay text field from the EWS page.
Copy
The text used for the overlay is what the user entered
Draft
on the EWS page, but Custom must be selected in the
menu for the text to be printed as an overlay on each
Urgent
page.

Off*
text entry field Use the text entry field to specify a custom overlay.
The field has a 64-character limit.
On* Interrupts the print job at the next page.
Off Interrupts the print job at the next job boundary which
means between incoming individual print jobs.
On To set to On, select the check box.
Off* To set to Off, clear the check box.
-4 to +4 (0*) -4 sets Background Removal to off.
+4 sets Background Removal to the maximum
allowed.
0–5 Text default is 5.
The default is 0 for items other than text.
