Menu item Purpose
Custom Key 2 Allows for .co.uk type
addresses.
General Defaults Specifies the defaults based
on geographical location.
Show initial Sets the MFP to show initial
prompts prompts after the device is
powered on so the user can
complete the setup.
Date Format Specifies the format based on
the geographical location.
Time Format Specifies if the format is for a
12-hour clock or for a 24-hour
clock.
Screen Brightness Adjusts the brightness of the
LCD on the control panel.
Show Bookmarks
Allow Custom Job Controls the show and hide
scans function for the Custom Job
setting and the Custom Job
scanning settings for each
function. The Custom Job
scanning settings set the
default values for Custom Job
for each function. They are
not shown if custom jobs are
not allowed.
This function is also known as
Job Build.
Custom Job is not supported
on all models.
Scanner jam Determines if the MFP
recovery recovers an entire print job or
just the page of the print job
when a scanner jam occurs.

affects these settings:
• Tray <x> (where x is the number of the
tray), MP Feeder, and Manual Pap (Letter/
A4)
• Manual Env (10 Envelope, DL Envelope)
• MP Feeder Paper Size
• Copy Original Size
• Fax Send Original Size
• E-mail Original Size
• FTP Original Size
• Universal Units of Measure (mm/inches)
• Date Time Format
– MM_DD_YYYY for U.S.
– DD_MM_YYYY for International
When the MFP is powered on the first time,
the default is Yes. After the user completes
the setup wizard and selects Done at the
Country select screen, the default is No.

When set to No, the Bookmarks container is

This menu item controls hide or show for the
user interface Custom Job setting as well as
the Custom Job scanning settings for each
function. The Custom Job scanning settings
set the default values for Custom Job for each
function.
Custom jobs may not recover at the job level.
Custom jobs always recover at the page level.
