Needed:
5/16" Wrench
9/16" Socket
7/32" Allen wrench
Awl or Sharp Tool
Gloves
1.
Remove the Belt Guard (se
the Drive Belt" in this Chapter to remove the Belt
Guard).
2.
Using a 5/16" Wrench, remove the Self -Tapping
Screws and remove both Knife Access Covers from the
front and back of the Chipper Assembly (Figure 34).
3.
Rotate the Flywheel using a stick until the three
countersunk Allen Screws and Lock Nuts attaching the
Knife to the Flywheel are visible through the Acces
Openings.
4.
Clean out the heads of the Allen Screws with an Awl or
Sharp Tool.
5.
Insert a 7/32" Allen Wrench into the head of a sc
(Figu
re 35).
6.
While holding the Allen W
using a 1/2" socket.
7.
Repeat Steps 5 and 6 for the remaining two Allen
Screws.
8. Remove the dull or damaged Knife and visually inspec
the Flywheel Slot and Knife mounting area and be su
they are clean and that the replacement Knife w
able to mount flush against the Flywheel.
