Manual Leapfrog Creatr

3.3 Preheat

Before you start printing, it is necessary to preheat your printer. The print material needs to be melted
and your printbed needs to be warm to make sure the material will stick to your bed. Here, we will
explain you how to do this using the Simplify3D software.
Select the extruder that you want to print with. If you have a Creatr single extruder you should
only use Tool 0 (right extruder). If you have a Creatr dual extruder you can use both extruders.
In the text box you can enter the temperature to which you want to heat the extruder and the
bed. The heating process will start after you click set. The red light in the software next to the
heated element will light up when the heater is On. You can stop the heating by clicking Off.
The indicator will display the temperature that the extruders and the bed are at. In the
screenshot below the selected extruder heated to 96 degrees Celsius and will continue to heat
until it reaches 255 degrees. The bed is at 20 degrees Celsius and heating to 80 degrees.
The temperatures should set to the same values as given in section 2.3 for both the extruders
and the heated bed. You can also check the temperature by looking at the temperature plot [see
next screenshot]. The red dotted line is the setpoint for the extruder and the red solid line is the
actual measured temperature. The blue lines mean the same but for the bed instead of the
selected extruder.
