Trim pump. Oil level
When checking and topping up the oil it is important
that no dirt gets into the oil. Keep everything very
3
clean.
Trim pump "A"
WARNING! The hydraulic system is under
pressure. Before removing the filler plug the drive
must be trimmed up completely so that the
system is not under pressure. Always use a rag
over the filler hole when the plug is being
removed so that should the system still be under
pressure the oil does not spray out.
Trim the drive to the maximum up position. Remove
the oil filler plug (1) and check that the oil level
reaches the bottom edge of the hole. Top up if
necessary using ATF oil. Tighten the filler plug.
Trim pump "B"
Trim the drive to the maximum down position. Check
the oil level is between the MAX and MIN markings on
the oil container. Remove the oil filler cover (2) to fill
with oil. Use automatic transmission fluid.
After filling a completely drained reservoir the system
should be bled by trimming the drive in and out
approximately 10 times. Top up if required.
.
Fuses. Power Trim
On the trim pump motor "A" is a 10 A automatic fuse
which is reset with the button (3). On trim pump motor
"B" there is a fuse holder with a 10 A blade fuse (4).
There is a 50 A automatic fuse located on the engine
port side (on the injection pump). Reset the fuse by
pressing in the button (5).
The control handle with integrated Power Trim controls
(Volvo Penta control) has a 5 A fusible link (6) in the
harness.
IMPORTANT! Always investigate the reason for
6
the fuse activating. Always carry spare fuses.
