Rubber seal. S-drive
Check the rubber seal (1) between the drive and the
hull regularly for cracks and wear.
WARNING! The seal must be changed every
seven years or earlier if it is defective. This work
should be carried out by an authorized workshop.
Propeller shaft seal. Reverse gear
If the boat has a water lubricated shaft seal, the seal
must be vented and lubricated directly after launching.
Vent the propeller shaft seal by pressing it together
while pressing it down onto the shaft until water
appears. Then press in approx. 1 cm
water repellent grease into the seal.
IMPORTANT! The seal must be replaced every
500 running hours or every 5th year.
Folding propeller. Maintenance
The propeller should be disassembled once a year for
cleaning and lubrication. Clean carefully. Apply
waterproof grease to the propeller blade teeth and

bearing surfaces so that the propeller can fold easily.
Also apply waterproof grease to the studs (1),
propeller shaft and hub.
WARNING! The line cutter (2) has very sharp
edges and must be handled with care.
IMPORTANT! The tab washer (3) must be
replaced every fourth year. Only a Volvo Penta
original locking screw (4) may be used.
