Dynamic Positioning System Volvo Penta Dynamic Positioning system (DPS) is a function that aids holding a selected position and compass heading by a GPS signal. The function is intended as an aid, e.g. while waiting for a berth or for a bridge to open.
Optional Volvo Penta Interceptor System The Volvo Penta interceptor system is a trim system that uses interceptors installed on the transom to act on a boat's running characteristics and provide a safer, more comfortable passage regardless of weather conditions. The IS system affects a boat's running characteristics at speeds of ≈10 knots and above.
Optional Volvo Penta Easy Connect Volvo Penta Easy Connect gives you an overview of boat and engine data, route information and more, by linking your boat/engine – via Bluetooth® to your smartphone/tablet. It consists of two parts, the Easy Connect Interface and the Easy Connect app.

A number of symptoms and possible causes of engine malfunctions are described in the table below. Always contact your Volvo Penta dealer if problems occur which you can not solve by yourself. Depending what display is installed the fault message is shown differently. Contact your Volvo Penta dealer if the fault remains after trying the corrective actions associated with the fault. Lift the boat ashore. Check the oil level in the drive. If the oil is gray-colored, water has entered and the drive must be inspected by an authorized Volvo Penta workshop. The same applies if there is damage to the drive.
Maintenance Schedule Your Volvo Penta engine and its equipment are designed for high reliability and long life. The engines are built to have the smallest possible environmental impact. To retain these qualities and to avoid unnecessary malfunction, preventive maintenance needs to be performed. It is the owner's responsibility to make sure that services are performed at intervals in the Service protocol, in order for the warranty to be valid.
Volvo Penta recommend that all servicing with the engine running should be undertaken by an authorized Volvo Penta workshop. The intervals when maintenance items must be carried are indicated in the Maintenance Schedule.
Always observe the greatest cleanliness during refueling and work on the fuel system. All work on the injectors of the engine must be carried out by an authorized Volvo Penta workshop. WARNING! Fire hazard. When carrying out work on the fuel system make sure the engine is cold.

Always stop the engine and break the current using the main switches before working on the engine. IMPORTANT: Contact a Volvo Penta dealer for information if any arc welding will be performed on the application. Arc welding can cause damage to the engine and the electronics.
The reverse gear uses solenoid valves for electronically controlled shifting. Volvo Penta recommends that a seawater filter be fitted to guarantee the correct cooling water flow to the engine and reverse gear. Otherwise there is a risk of contaminants in the seawater blocking the reverse gear cooler and other cooling system components.
